Crirer

Crirer was originally built as a passenger ship. It later underwent an extensive rebuild and was converted into a hospital ship.

During the rebuild, the main funnel was replaced, a separate engine-room ventilation funnel was added, a helicopter landing pad was created, and the masts were replaced and repositioned.

On the day of the accident, one of the masts failed. Due to incorrect mounting, the mast tore away from its base.

Later in the incident, the ship was struck by a large wave and listed to starboard. The engine-room ventilation funnel also broke away from the structure.
